Available Badges
This is the complete list of badges currently available on WeGlide, sorted alphabetically. For each badge you find a short description of how to earn it and the date it was introduced. For badges with multiple levels, the threshold values for each level are listed under Levels.
Aeronaut

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Accumulate total airtime across all your pilot flights. Every valid flight you upload as pilot adds to your lifetime total. A great motivation to keep flying season after season.
Levels: 50 h · 200 h · 500 h · 1,000 h · 3,000 h
Aircraft Hopper

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly with a variety of different gliders. Each distinct aircraft you upload a pilot flight with counts once — flying the same glider many times does not increase the count.
Levels: 5 · 10 · 20 · 30 · 50 different aircraft
Always by Your Side

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly as copilot repeatedly with the same pilot. Only your copilot flights count — your own pilot flights do not. The badge tracks the single pilot you have flown with most often as copilot. The pilot must be selected from the WeGlide user suggestion list when uploading the flight; a free-text name without a linked WeGlide account is not counted.
Levels: 5 · 10 · 25 · 50 · 100 copilot flights with the same pilot
Astronaut

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Reach a high altitude on a single flight. The maximum altitude is taken from the highest GPS fix recorded in the IGC file during the flight.
Levels: 2,000 m · 3,000 m · 5,000 m · 7,000 m · 9,000 m
Big Five

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly at least one glider from each of five major manufacturers: Schempp-Hirth, Alexander Schleicher, Jonker Sailplanes, Rolladen-Schneider (the LS series) and DG Flugzeugbau. Any model from each manufacturer counts and the flights can be spread across different seasons.
Border Crosser

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Land on an airfield in a different country than the one you took off from on the same flight. Both the takeoff and landing airports must be identified by WeGlide and must be in different countries.
Bring It Home

Introduced: October 1, 2023
Execute a long final glide. The final glide is the last uninterrupted straight glide segment of your flight as detected by the scoring engine. If the very last glide segment is shorter than 5 km (e.g. a short final approach after a circling manoeuvre near the airfield), the second-to-last segment is used instead. The segment must be at least 50 km long.
Centrifuge

Introduced: March 1, 2026
Thermally with a steep bank angle. In a single thermal, gain at least 1,000 m of altitude while maintaining a bank angle of more than 45 degrees throughout. Both the altitude gain and the bank angle requirement must be met within the same thermal. Only flights from March 1, 2026 onwards are eligible.
Clean Sheet

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly more than 500 km (free distance) on a single flight, using at least 10 thermals, without a single circling attempt. A circling attempt means starting to turn into a thermal but abandoning it before completing a full circle — even one failed attempt disqualifies the flight. The free distance and thermal count are taken from the flight's scoring result.
Cockpit Crew

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly with many different people over the course of your flying career. The badge counts the total number of unique WeGlide users you have shared a cockpit with, whether as their pilot or as their copilot. Copilots only count if they have a linked WeGlide account (selected from the suggestion list when uploading); free-text names without an account link are not counted.
Levels: 5 · 10 · 20 · 50 · 100 different people
Consistency

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly on a streak of consecutive weekends as pilot or copilot. Only Saturday and Sunday flights count. A streak is maintained as long as each weekend (Saturday or Sunday) is directly followed by another weekend on which you flew. Both pilot and copilot flights count towards the streak.
Levels: 3 · 5 · 10 · 20 · 40 weekends in a row
Day Winner

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Win the day on WeGlide by having the highest-scoring flight among all pilots on that day. Each calendar day on which you place first counts as one win. Days accumulate over your entire WeGlide history.
Levels: 1 · 2 · 5 · 20 · 50 day wins
Diamond

Introduced: October 1, 2023
Complete all three Diamond C requirements. The three conditions can be met across different flights and different seasons — they do not need to happen on the same flight. You need: (1) a free distance of at least 500 km on any pilot flight, (2) at least 5,000 m of altitude gain on any pilot flight, and (3) a declared triangle or Out & Return task of at least 300 km successfully completed on any pilot flight. The task must be declared online on WeGlide before the flight (not from the IGC file) and must not be an AAT task. All qualifying flights must have a scoring date of October 1, 2023 or later.
Early Bird

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Take off before 9:00 am local time. The takeoff time is determined from your IGC file and converted to the local timezone of your takeoff airport. A single qualifying flight is enough to earn the badge.
Efficiency

Introduced: March 1, 2026
Fly a declared triangle with precision. Declare a triangle task of at least 50 km online on WeGlide and complete it such that your free-distance score does not exceed the declared distance by more than 5%. The task must not be an AAT task. This rewards flying the exact task line without unnecessary detours. Only flights from March 1, 2026 onwards are eligible.
Endurance

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Stay airborne for an extended period on a single flight. The duration is measured from takeoff to landing as recorded in the IGC file.
Levels: 5 h · 8 h · 11 h · 14 h
Euclid

Introduced: October 1, 2023
Fly a declared rectangle (a four-leg task) of a given distance. The task must be declared online on WeGlide before the flight, not imported from the IGC file.
Levels: 250 km · 500 km · 750 km · 1,000 km · 1,250 km
Everesting

Introduced: March 1, 2026
Thermally climb the height of Mount Everest (8,848 m) within a single one-hour window on one flight. The altitude gain must be accumulated by thermaling circles within any rolling one-hour period of the flight. Only flights from March 1, 2026 onwards are eligible.
Explorer

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Complete a declared Out & Return task of a given distance. The task must be declared online on WeGlide before the flight and the full distance must be achieved as scored by the declaration contest.
Levels: 250 km · 500 km · 750 km · 1,000 km · 1,250 km
First Step

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Get started on WeGlide. Follow at least one other user and upload a profile picture. Both conditions must be fulfilled. This is the easiest badge and a good introduction to the platform.
Flying in Circles

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Circumnavigate the controlled airspace around different major airports. Each unique airport circumnavigation counts once regardless of how many times you have gone around it. See the Circumnavigation section at the bottom of this page for the full list of qualifying airports.
Levels: 1 · 2 · 5 · 10 · 15 different airports
Flying Spree

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly on at least 6 distinct days within any 7-day window, counting both pilot and copilot flights. The days do not need to be consecutive — any six unique flying days that all fall within the same rolling 7-day period qualify.
Globe Trotter

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Fly gliders on multiple different continents. The continent is determined by the takeoff airport of each flight. Flights from different seasons all count towards the total.
Levels: 2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · 6 continents
Gold

Introduced: October 1, 2023
Complete all three Gold C requirements. The three conditions can be met across different flights and different seasons. You need: (1) a flight of more than 5 hours duration, (2) at least 3,000 m of altitude gain on any pilot flight, and (3) a free distance of at least 300 km on any pilot flight. All qualifying flights must have a scoring date of October 1, 2023 or later.

Helicopter

Introduced: March 1, 2026
Slow down to almost nothing in mid-air. Maintain a groundspeed below 10 km/h for at least one continuous minute during a flight, while being at least 3 km away from both your takeoff point and your landing point. The first and last 10 minutes of each flight are excluded to avoid counting slow taxi or pre-launch movement. Only flights from March 1, 2026 onwards are eligible.
Late Owl

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Land after 9:00 pm (21:00) local time. The landing time is determined from your IGC file and converted to the local timezone of your landing airport. A single qualifying flight is enough to earn the badge.

Mission Completed

Introduced: April 11, 2023
Declare a task online and successfully complete it. The task must be declared on WeGlide before the flight — tasks imported automatically from the IGC file do not count. The declared distance must be at least 50 km. Successfully achieving the declared task on the flight earns the badge, regardless of task type.
No Need to Circle

Introduced: October 1, 2023
