Hungarian WeGlide Competition (Magyar WeGlide Bajnokság)
1 General Rules
1.1 Purpose of the Magyar WeGlide Bajnokság (MWB)
To promote cross-country soaring and support the next generation of glider pilots within the air sports clubs organized under the MRLSZ (Magyar Repülő és Légisport Szövetség). The competition aims to determine the Hungarian Cross-Country Soaring Champions.
1.2 Organizer
The organizer is the Hungarian Gliding Association, part of the MRLSZ.
1.3 Dates and Location of the Championship
The MWB takes place during the scoring period from October 1st to September 30th. Only flights performed within this timeframe will be scored. The MWB is conducted as a decentralized competition.
1.4 Clubs and Participants
Participating clubs may be air sports clubs that belong to the MRLSZ. Furthermore, participating clubs based at an airfield may form a local registration group. Participants may be glider pilots who are ordinary
members of a participating club or an air sports association of the MRLSZ. Participants may report their flights for up to two participating clubs within one scoring period.
Participants are considered juniors if their 25th birthday falls within the calendar years of the competition or if they are younger.
1.5 Rules
Participants are responsible for exercising due diligence in complying with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as all other regulations and recommendations applicable to gliding.
Regarding the determination of Sunrise (SR) and Sunset (SS), the civil twilight data (SERA) provided on the "Date and Time" page is binding.
The Sporting Code applies to the planning and execution of scoring flights, unless stated otherwise in these MWB rules. Distance calculations are based on the WGS84 ellipsoid (Vincenty’s formula). Only flights with a start of free flight or a departure point within Hungary will be considered. All flights must be submitted online via weglide.org.
1.6 Championship Registration
A participant’s first flight submission for scoring serves as their official registration. By submitting, the participant:
Accepts the MWB rules under the exclusion of legal recourse.
Consents to the collection, processing, and use of personal data for evaluation and publication.
Agrees to the privacy policy of the WeGlide platform.
1.7 Violations
Participating clubs and individuals who attempt to gain advantages through false information or unfair methods may be disqualified.
Intentional violations: Result in a 5-year ban and public disclosure of the name of the individual/club.
Repeat offenses: Result in a 10-year ban. The association reserves the right to take further measures.
1.8 Appeals
Appeals must be directed to the Hungarian Gliding Association.
Deadline: No later than 48 hours after the flight has been scored.

1.9 Award Ceremony
The official announcement of the winners and the award ceremony will take place during the Hungarian Airsports Conference Day.
