Jonker Sailplanes Challenge
To promote gliding worldwide and to support young pilots, Jonker Sailplanes introduces a competition for juniors worldwide.
Prize
The Prize of the Jonker Sailplanes Challenge is the partition in the South African club class nationals for the two juniors who win:
- the European Sprint competition
- the sprint ranking for the rest of the world, excluding flights from Namibia
1. Goal
Jonker Sailplanes wants to promote gliding worldwide and support young pilots in developing their soaring skills.
2. Object of promotion
As part of the Jonker Sailplanes Challenge, the best juniors are invited to the South African club class nationals. This competition usually takes place in Potchefstroom in October. Registration fee, aircraft, tows, and accommodation will be paid by Jonker Sailplanes (JS), travel to and from South Africa and food is at your own expense.
The award also includes a factory tour at the JS factory and a cross-country flight in a JS glider. The stay can be extended after consultation at your own expense and JS will help find a glider to rent.
3. General Rules
The Jonker Sailplanes Challenge is based on the WeGlide Sprint competition for juniors. In order to notify the winners with some time ahead, the ranking from 1st of August is considered. There will be two winners each year, the junior who wins:
4. Selection process
Naturally, the juniors who place first for Europe and the rest of the world will be selected as winners of the Jonker Sailplanes Challenge. There may however be cases in which Jonker Sailplanes and WeGlide may deflect from this and choose a more suitable candidate.
4.1 Other sponsorship
If one of the winners takes part in other junior promotion programs by WeGlide or anyone else in the same year.
4.2 Previous winner
If one of the winners has already won the Jonker Sailplanes Challenge. Winners from past years will not be taken into account.
4.3 Candidate not suitable
If Jonker Sailplanes and WeGlide are, by whatever reasons, convinced that the winner may not be suitable by personality or skills of flying.
