Overview

WeGlide's User Messages feature is an innovative functionality designed to facilitate communication between pilots on our platform. This feature enables users to send messages, coordinate gliding trips, discuss optimal glider setups, and celebrate each other's achievements. The User Messages feature is guided by a commitment to privacy and security, ensuring that your personal information remains safeguarded unless you choose to share it.

Feature Description

Sending Messages

Users can initiate a conversation with another pilot by navigating to the respective user's profile page. Click on the message icon located next to the user's profile picture to draft your message. Please note that if the other person has deactivated the messaging feature in their settings, the message icon will not appear. After crafting your message, click "send" to deliver it.

Message Delivery

When you send a message, WeGlide delivers an email notification to the recipient, revealing your email address. The email includes the content of your message, but no sensitive data from the recipient is revealed during this process.

Reply and Connect

If the recipient chooses to reply to your message, their response will be sent to your email address. Replying to a message reveals the respondent's email to you, thereby establishing a direct line of communication for future correspondence.

Opt-Out

If you prefer not to be contacted via the WeGlide platform, you can disable the messaging feature in your account settings. Once this feature is deactivated, other users will not be able to contact you through the platform.

Privacy Commitment

The recipient's email address remains hidden until they choose to reply to your message and establish further communication.
