Bitterwasser Cup

1 General Rules

1.1 Goal of the Bitterwasser Cup

The goal of the Bitterwasser Cup is to promote cross-country soaring among junior glider pilots in Europe.

1.2 Host and organizer

The host is WeGlide UG. The Bitterwasser Cup is organized and awarded by the Bitterwasser Lodge.

1.3 Date and place of the competition

The Bitterwasser Cup is carried out decentrally. Only flights that take off in a country belonging to Europe are scored. The nationality of the participant does not matter.

The scoring period is the WeGlide season from October 1st to September 30th.

1.4 Participants

Participants are considered to be juniors if they are younger than 25 years or their 25th birthday lies in the calendar year of the flight.

2 Scoring

Flights are scored according to the rules of the WeGlide Free contest.

The Bitterwasser Cup ranking is the Junior Challenge, the junior ranking of the Free contest, limited to flights that take off in Europe according to 1.3.

The winner is the participant with the highest sum of points from their five best flights.

3 Flight documentation

Flights must be documented with an IGC approved flight recorder. Flights documented with a flight recorder that is only WeGlide approved are not scored.

4 Prize

4.1 Winner

The winner of the Bitterwasser Cup receives the prize of the Bitterwasser Lodge.

4.2 Previous winner

Each participant can win the prize only once. If the winner has already won the prize in a previous season, it goes to the next-placed participant.

4.3 Award ceremony

The prize will be awarded at the WeGlide Finale.

5 Error Codes

The flights are checked on the basis of the Error Codes stored by the provider WeGlide.
