Coupe Fédérale FFVP
General Rules
1. Goal of the Championnat de France des Clubs FFVP
The French Gliding Federation (FFVP) aims to encourage cross-country flying within its member associations and across national sites. The Federal Cup promotes cross-country flying
as an everyday sporting activity within its clubs and contributes to member retention. Starting from the 2025 season, the Federal Cup is hosted on the WeGlide platform: [ffvp.weglide.org] (https://ffvp.weglide.org).
2. Registration of Associations for the Federal Cup
Registration for the Federal Cup is free and automatic for all clubs affiliated with the FFVP. Consequently, all FFVP-affiliated clubs appear online in all Federal Cup rankings—specifically
the general FFVP club ranking—and are automatically included in the annual sporting report published by the FFVP. In the event of an
omission or technical issue, clubs should contact commission@ffvp.fr.
3. Registration of Pilots for the Federal Cup
Registration for the Federal Cup implies acceptance of these regulations, strict adherence to the rules of the air, and the provision of flight documentation in the event of an audit.
Pilots must register under a single profile by providing their identity, email address, and primary club on www.weglide.org. The pilot is required to hold a valid FFVP sporting
license for the current season, and their flights will contribute to the ranking of the association that issued said license.
4. Recording of Performance
Flight performance can only be attributed to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), who must hold a valid pilot's license appropriate for the type of aircraft used (glider or microlight).
Each performance is recorded via the submission of the flight file to the WeGlide platform by the PIC. The file must be uploaded no later than 12:00 PM (noon) two days after landing.

5. Performance Evaluation
The flight course may include a maximum of 3 turnpoints between the start and finish. The glider must fly within the observation zone of each waypoint on the course. There is no distance
limit per leg, and the minimum total distance for a circuit is set at 25 kilometers. The points awarded are proportional to the credited distance, the success index, and the inverse of the
handicap of the glider used.
Points_Fligh = Distance_Fligh x (100 / Handicap_Glider) x Success_IndexDistance_flight (in km): The course, with a distance exceeding 25 km, includes a maximum of 3 turnpoints between the start and finish.
Handicap_glider: DAeC handicaps for the current year.
SuccessIndex: The success coefficient is valued at 1.2 when the course is completed "as declared" (tasked) and 1.0 otherwise ("free" flight).
→ NP4.2 – Annexe B: Contrôles des performances
6. Individual Rankings and Club Rankings
The Federal Cup season for year N begins on October 1st of year N-1 and ends on September 30th of year N. Rankings are established for each Federal Cup season:
Individual:
The France Ranking (national) is the sum of the pilot's 5 best performances with a takeoff from France.
The Open Ranking is the sum of the pilot's 5 best performances globally.
Clubs:
- General Club Ranking: The general ranking is based on the total points obtained by all members of the association holding a license.
→ NP4.2 – Annexe C: Présentation des différents classements proposés par la Coupe Fédérale
7. Performance Verification
In principle, performance verification complies with the Sporting Code, with a few specific modifications for simplification:
Acceptance of flight recorders not approved by the IGC (see list of accepted recorders)
No calibration certificate required for flight recorders.
Flights that do not comply with Federal Cup regulations or the rules of the air may be deleted by the Federal Cup administrators. In the event of a repeat offense or proven cheating, the pilot's account+may be deleted by the administrators.
→ NP4.2 – Annexe B: Contrôles des performances
8. Awards
The FFVP will reward the winner of the General Club Ranking.
A ranking for "newly cleared cross-country pilots" (those who achieved their cross-country endorsement in year N or N-1) will also be maintained ("Rookies" ranking): a pilot will be drawn at random from the top ten, and their club will receive a prize offered by the FFVP.
Disputes regarding evaluations must be addressed to the FFVP. Disputes must be filed no later than 48 hours after the evaluated flight. A decision on a dispute must be made as quickly as possible and no later than October 10th following the end of the evaluation period.

Annex A
Recording of Performances
Flight performance can only be attributed to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), who must hold a valid pilot's license appropriate for the type of aircraft used (glider or microlight).
Each performance must be recorded on the WeGlide website www.weglide.org by the PIC no later than 12:00 PM (noon) two days after landing.
The pilot contributes to the ranking of the FFVP-affiliated association through which they hold a valid FFVP sporting license.
Pilot and club rankings are immediately available on the WeGlide website: www.weglide.org.
The registration of a flight implies acceptance of the regulations, adherence to the rules of the air, the online publication of the flight file, and the provision of any necessary documentation in the event of an audit.
Sporting Stewards / Club Support
Club sporting stewards may report any issue concerning a flight to the WeGlide managers (info@weglide.org) and the Sporting Commission ([commission.sport@ffvp.fr] (mailto:commission.sport@ffvp.fr)).
Annex B
Registration for the Federal Cup implies acceptance of these regulations, strict adherence to the rules of the air, and the provision of flight documentation in the event of an audit.
1. Recording of Performance
To validate a performance, it is necessary to provide a single flight file in IGC format, as defined by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale), originating from a GPS recorder—provided that it stores latitude, longitude, and altitude (pressure or GPS) data as a function of time.
The list of recorders recognized for the Federal Cup includes those accepted by WeGlide (https://docs.weglide.org/contests/loggers.html).
The electronic declaration must be included within this same IGC file to claim an "as declared" (tasked) performance.
For motorized gliders: The recorder must be FAI/IGC approved and equipped with a function to detect the use of the engine (ENL for combustion or electric engines, MOP for jet engines).
The flight must be uploaded to WeGlide no later than 12:00 PM (noon) two days after landing.
2. Flight
The course may include a maximum of 3 turnpoints between the start and finish. There is no distance limit per leg, and the minimum circuit distance is set at 25 kilometers.
2.1 Free Flight
A flight is considered "free" if it was conducted without a pre-takeoff declaration or if it was not completed in accordance with the rules for an "as declared" flight. The distance is optimized using a maximum of 4 legs.
Declared Flight
A declared flight consists of a maximum of 4 legs, comprising a "start" waypoint, up to 3 "turnpoint" waypoints, and a "finish" waypoint.
The geographic coordinates for the "start" and "finish" waypoints must be declared before takeoff (i.e., the declared start point cannot be the release point or the point of engine shutdown).
The waypoints declared before takeoff (limited to 3) must all be rounded in the specified order.
Electronic Declaration: To validate an "as declared" performance and benefit from the associated bonus, the completed circuit must have been declared electronically before takeoff.
Electronic declaration of the intended circuit can be performed using either an IGC-approved GPS recorder or flight logging software recognized by the FFVP, provided the electronic file signature
function is activated.
Note: "Paper declarations" have not been valid since January 1, 2017.
Observation Zones: The observation zone is the sector the glider must fly over to validate the "rounding" of a waypoint. There is no altitude limit.
Start and Finish are defined by a line with a total length of 1 km:
The start/finish line is a 1 km straight-line segment perpendicular to the first/last leg. The midpoint of the segment is centered on the start or finish point.
The start/finish line must be crossed in the direction of the first/last leg.
Turnpoint Observation Zones are defined by an observation circle or a sector (quadrant):
- Observation Circle: Centered on the turnpoint with a radius of 500m. Note: If a 500m circle is used to validate a turnpoint, 1 km must be deducted from the total circuit distance.
*Observation Quadrant: A 90° sector whose bisector coincides with the external bisector of the course angle. The turnpoint quadrant has no distance limit from the turnpoint (unlimited radius).

Flights in Official Competitions: There are no longer any exemptions from the Federal Cup regulations.
3. Use of a Motorized Glider
The "Recording of Engine Shutdown and Validation" method is described in the FAI Sporting Code.
Annex C
The FFVP Federal Cup rankings are available at ffvp.weglide.org. The Federal Cup season for year N begins on October 1st of year N-1 and ends on September 30th of year N.
1. Performance Evaluation
The number of points obtained at the conclusion of a flight is proportional to the credited distance, the success index, and the inverse of the handicap of the glider used.
Points_Fligh = Distance_Fligh x (100 / Handicap_Glider) x Success_IndexDistance (in km): The course, with a distance exceeding 25 km, includes a maximum of 3 turnpoints between the start and finish.
Glider Handicap: DAeC handicaps for the current year.
Success Index: The success coefficient is valued at 1.2 when the course is completed "as declared" (tasked) and 1.0 otherwise ("free" flight).
2. Pilot Score
A pilot's "France" score is established based on the sum of their 5 best national performances departing from France.
The "Open" score is established based on the sum of their 5 best performances (regardless of takeoff location).
3. Individual Rankings
The France Ranking is the sum of the pilot's 5 best performances departing from France.
The Open Ranking is the sum of the pilot's 5 best performances globally.
From these rankings, the following sub-rankings are extracted:
The France Women’s Ranking
The France Junior Ranking (pilots under 25 years old)
In addition:
Rookies Ranking: All pilots who request it may participate, except those who have held their SPL (Sailplane Pilot License) for more than 2 years (checkbox in profile; SPL date must be provided if obtained).
Top 20 World and Top 20 France Rankings: Rankings based on the single best distance achieved by each pilot (Open – France).
4. Club Rankings
The Federal Cup features two club rankings:
"Club Top 5" Ranking: Based on the average points of the 5 best pilots in the general France ranking.
"General Club" Ranking: Based on the total points obtained by all FFVP-licensed members departing from France.
