Why do I get no extra points for my declaration?
Task flying for national competitions such as the german DMSt comes with lots of rules. If one of the rules is disregarded, the free distance is used and there are no bonus points for the declaration. Clicking on the task item left to your flight shows the original declaration to aid the troubleshooting.
Here are the most common pitfalls why a declared task was not used for scoring:
1. Incorrect takeoff
For the scoring to start, one needs to fly without assistance (winch, motor or towing) trough the takeoff circle. Please ensure your scoring window begins before leaving the takeoff circle for the last time.
2. Missed one turn point
Every turn point must be circumnavigated in the correct order. It is recommended to do so with a safety margin.
3. Incorrect landing
For the scoring to be completed, one needs to cross the finish line or enter the landing circle before the scoring window ends. Please ensure that you adhere to the maximum altitude difference between takeoff and landing, specified in the contest rules.
4. The declaration was an invalid shape
Declaring a task which is not a valid triangle, rectangle or out and return shape is most likely a mistake. If this is the case, the task is marked as "3 TP" and gives less points than the free score most of the time. Please use the WeGlide task planer for adequate warnings, correct shapes and a proper point estimation
5. The declaration was not in the logger
If the flight is uploaded from a logger where the task was not declared in, the task does not appear on WeGlide and can not be scored. To prevent this from happening, please use the online declaration which is logger independent
